Fall Class – Count My Blessings #3

Happy Monday,

I had a busy Saturday!!  The Houston Choral Society a group I have sung with since 1988 had our big Oktoberfest concert.  It was mainly done in German so I’ve been spending a lot of time working on it!! Unfortunately because of it falling on World Card Making Day I was unable to have a group of ladies to come over for a day of stamping!!

4 cards wm

I’m going to be describing the bottom left card.  I love making these “peek – a- boo” cards.  The base is Early Espresso cs cut 5 1/2′ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″  I used Crushed Curry, Whisper White cs, and Colored Me Autumn DSP paper.  I stamped the Acorn design with Memento Tuxcedo Ink  on Whisper White cs and then used blending pens with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, and Chocolate Chip inks.  The DSP paper is cut 5 1/4′ x 4″ and then find the middle and cut down 1 1/2″ down.  Then fold over each corner and using tape runner to hold it down.  Then adhere it onto the front of the card using tape runner. Next using the Stitched Circles cut the largest out of Crushed Curry and then the next size smaller that you stamped the design on.  Adhere the Whisper White to the Crushed Curry piece and using Stampin Dimensionals to the Crushed Curry to put it on the center of the DSP.  I used Thinking of You from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set using Chocolate Chip ink and punched out using the new Classic Label punch.  Adhere it using the new mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Fall Card Class – Count My Blessings #2

Went out Wed. night and saw the big full moon!!  It was beautiful and you could really see the craters 🙂  Hope you had a chance to enjoy it!

Today’s card uses the Painted Autumn DSP along with Cajun Craze cs for the base.  You will need an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Cajun Craze scored at 4 1/4″.  You will also need a piece 2 3/4″ x  4″ 1/8″Cajun Craze cs.  The DSP paper will be 3 3/4″ x 5″.  The Very Vanilla piece is 3 7/8″ x 2″ 7/16″.  Using Memento Tuxcedo Black ink you will stamp the flower image.  Then with blender pens use Soft Sky for the flower, Pear Pizazz for the leaves, and Cajun Craze Stampin Write marker for the stamens of the flower.  Before adhering the DSP to the front of the card wrap a piece of Soft Sky Classic Weave ribbon around it.  Then use either Snail or Tombow to adhere it to the card front. Before adhering the Very Vanilla stamped piece use Cajun Craze ink to stamp Happy Thanksgiving that comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. Adhere the stamped piece to the Cajun Craze piece and then use Stampin Dimensionals to put that piece on the card over the ribbon.  Stamp the inside on the $” x 5 1/4″ Very Vanilla cs using the sentiment from the stamp set using Cajun Craze ink .

Fall Card Class

Hi all,

Today I’m going to start showing the cards that we made at my Fall card class last week.  This class is going to be repeated Oct. 14th at 2:00pm.  I chose to use the stamp set Count My Blessings!  I’m in love with this stamp set, as it is so versatile for Fall, Thanksgiving, and works great with the Autumn Harvest DSP paper.

This first card uses the Fresh Fig ink and the flower from Count My Blessings.  It is your standard A2 card using Fresh Fig cs.  I stamped on Whisper white cs measuring 4″ x 51/4″ with the flower stamp using Fresh Fig ink all over having some flowers going at an angle, upside down, and stamped off the side of the card.  I then had a piece of Fresh Fig ribbon and wrapped it around the piece I had just stamped before adhering it to the front of the Fresh Fig card.  I then used the Lots of Labels Framelits to cut out the Fresh Fig piece and the Whisper White piece.  I next stamped the flower using Memento Tuxcedo Black ink and with the blender pens used Fresh Fig ink, and Pear Pizazz ink.  Using Stampin Dimensionals I adhered the stamped piece to the Fresh Fig piece and Stampin Dimensionals to adhere to the card on top of the ribbon.

Some other big news is that World Card Making Day in Oct. 7th, but Stampin’ Up is celebrating from Oct. 1-10 with a sale.  The following items are on sale:

Eastern Palace #4

Today I am going to be explaining how to do the card on the bottom far right.  I just love this stamp set Eastern Beauty!  The measurements are 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. The Tranquil Tide piece of cs is 5 1/4″ x 4″. the Whisper White piece that I did the stamping on measures 5″ x 3 3/4″.  First, I stamped the big circle in Lemon Lime Twist  and built the card around it.  Next using Tranquil Tide I stamped the first flower image to the left of the circle.  Next, I stamped the flower to the bottom of the middle stamping off the paper. From there I continued building towards the top left corner.  I then came in with Lemon Lime Twist and using the spritzing looking stamp I went around the whole flower over lapping each petal as I did this.  I stamped the sentiment in Tranquil Tide Ink in the big circle.  I adhered the Whisper White layer to the Tranquil Tide layer and then adhered them to the Whisper White card base.  I completed the card by using a circle from the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers and put it in the middle of each flower.  This was a very easy card to make 🙂

Hurricane Update:

As some of you know I live in the Katy, Texas, area and we have been hit very hard with “Harvey”  The catastrophic storm has brought so much devastation to the Houston  and surrounding areas and it is still wrecking havoc!  It has now moved to the east Texas area and parts of Louisiana!  These last few days have been spent glued to the TV for updates and listening to the pounding rain and wondering if it was going to come into the house!  Today it was sunshiny outside and no RAIN!!

I want to thank all my friends and family for all the beautiful birthday messages, texts, and calls yesterday that made my day so special!! Even despite the devastation of “Harvey” I felt and feel very blessed that my daughter, sister, brother, niece and Brett and myself were all safe and dry during this horrendous time of flooding 😇 So many of my friends have not been as fortunate and my heart is so sad for them. I did have a nice birthday as the sun came out in the afternoon and brightened spirits!! Again thank you all for thinking of me on my birthday and please continue to keep Houston, Katy, and surrounding areas in your prayers! Love you all

I’ll be back with a new card to share tomorrow.  Remember the new Holiday Catalog starts Sept. 1st, so if you would like a copy please let me know so I can get one to you.

Eastern Palace Suite #3

Happy Friday!!  I’m getting ready to go to Hideaway Hill B&B for a weekend retreat.  I am going to be working on craft fair items along with a card swap I’m in.  So looking forward to this weekend 🙂  I may even get a massage while I’m there.  Lori is the masseuse who is just WONDERFUL!!!

Today will be the third part of this suite.  I’m going to do the top right card to think of you is to smile!  The base is again Fresh Fig 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ like the one Wednesday and this time we are using the Vanilla with flowers and small dots DSP cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″. Take the piece of Very Vanilla cs cut at 5 1/4″ x 2″ and with Fresh Fig ink stamp the saying at the far right side. Next adhere it down to the DSP paper. Then take the gold ribbon and wrap it around the DSP and greeting piece threading a gold tassle over the gold ribbon and holding it in place with a glue dot.  Make a small bow out of the gold ribbon and adhere it by the tassle using a glue dot. Using the 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ Dapper Denim cs square cut out the medallion piece using the large partial cut flower, medium circle, and small circle Thinlit pieces and cut it out using the Big Shot. Add a gold circle  vinyl sticker to the center of the flower.  Adhere the Dapper Denim piece to the piece of Very Vanilla cs 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ with Snail (tape runner).  Then using Stampin’ Dimensionals put it on the left side of the card.  Again put a piece of Very Vanilla cs inside to write the message or stamp the message on.

Eastern Palace Suite #2

Today’s card is the bottom left card.  The base is using Fresh Fig cs.  Then you will take a piece of Very Vanilla cut 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and layer large circle frame and medium circle frame thinlit pieces and run it through the big shot.   Then use Fresh Fig ink on the border flourishes and Lemon Lime Twist with the petal flourishes, while using Tranquil Tide for the sentiment.

Next cut the Tranquil Tide DSP paper 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and adhere it to the Fresh Fig card base. Then adhere the stamped medallion piece to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Using the gold Vinyl Stickers cut the border in half and adhere one half along the top of the medallion piece, and one half along the bottom.  Cut a piece of gold ribbon 9″.  Loop it in half and tack it to the corner of the medallion piece with glue dots. Finally tie the tassel to the ribbon loop with gold thread securing with glue dots if needed.

With the darker pieces of cardstock I like to put a piece of Very Vanilla inside to write the message or stamp a message.
