Sealed With Love

Hi All,

I’m sorry I’ve been gone for a few days but I have been sick with asthmatic bronchitis for over a week.  Had a class this past Saturday so I will be posting some of the cards we made in it.

The first one is a Waterfall Card using the Sealed with Love stamp set.

This is the completed card. The base is Whisper White 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. The next layer is Rose Red  5 1/4″ x 4″. On this layer using the solid heart I stamped off once before I stamped on the card using Rose Red ink. To actually make the waterfall part you need a piece of Whisper White 2″ x 9″. Score at 2″, 2 3/4″, 3 1/2″,  4 1/4″.  Another strip of Whisper White 1″ x 4″. You can either add eyelets at each end of the white strip or brads, which I used here. The next pictures will show how the four hearts were stamped on a Whisper White 1″ square that is then adhered to a 1 1/2″ square of Pink Pirouette and that square is adhered to a 2″ Rose Red square.

At the end of the waterfall pull down I stamped Happy Valentine’s Day in Red Rose ink. To adhere the squares you only put adhesive on the small portion of each scored rectangle but on the last one, 2″ square with the words sending love you adhere the entire square  to the slide, pull down strip.  Next on the white strip put tear and tape on it where the strip goes and only adhere that square to it.  At the bottom of the strip use a 1″ circle punch only going about half of the circle and adhere white ribbon to it to pull the slide with.

I have a shopping code for the month of February when you spend less than $149.00.  If your order is $150.00 or more you become the hostess.  February code is: PPTPTKQ9

Window Box

Hi All,

Welcome back to Designs By Penny.  Last Friday I had my friend Cyndi over and she helped me get my creative juices flowing again which had been missing for awhile.

Ever since the Occasions came out I had been wanting to make this Window Box using Window Box Thinlit Dies.

I started with Whisper White and cut two boxes. I then cut squares from the Sending Love DSP series using the Stitched square framelits. Next using Read Red cardstock I cut the Succulent out using Succulent Framelit dies.  I then used the heart stamp with whisper white craft ink from the Oh So Succulent set. I had to let the white ink dry for a while longer than other inks.  Then I cut out the leaves in Cucumber Crush cs and used Garden Green ink to stamp the vines on them.  Finally I added a pearl embellishment to comple the succulent.

One hint I can tell you, is that on one of the boxes you can cut off both side tabs as it otherwise makes it to bulky and doesn’t want to stay together as easily.

Here are the products I used to make this adorable window box.

Personal Update

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving!

A lot of you know that I have have nursing a painful and swelling right foot for a few weeks. I got in to my podiatrist today, they took x-rays and I have a stress fracture and have to wear a surgical shoe for about 6 – 8 weeks!! I have no idea how it happened??? The x-ray showed that it is healing nicely, so I guess my staying off it has helped

We had a good day Sat. at the Katy Budget Books craft fair for small businesses. It was slow, but being the first time we did something like this I thought it went OK. We learned what we will do differently next time, and that we will have a make-n-take opportunity so people will know about stamping and Stampin Up products,. Everyone there said that it was a slow day, so at least it wasn’t just us !   I had a nice lady who won the raffle gift valued at $75.00. She is a teacher for KatyISD.

Will post pictures from Sat. and also some of the things that we made for it.

Vintage Leaves Card

Wow how fast this day has already gone!  I have been busy doing Stampin Up and Thirty One Gift orders all day 🙂

I want to continue with the cards made at the Fall/Autumn class using the Vintage Leaves stamp set.

This was made by using a stencil cut from the Leaf Framelits that go with the Vintage Leaves stamp set, and than sponging the different inks such as, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizazz,Cherry Cobbler on another piece of Very Vanilla so it would look like a leaf.  Then using Early Espresso to stamp the veins on using the Vintage Leaves stamp set.  Next, using the Leaf Framelits to cut it out.  That was the way I did it. I liked the way it gave it a 3-D effect after they were cut out.  Some in the class participants chose to do it a different way and it also turned out great looking.

This one was made by Cyndi and she used to leaves that were left over when I cut out the stencils.  Using the same ink colors she sponged them completely different and when she cut them out with the Leaf Framelits they still looked like 3-D leaves.  She really liked the saying we used on the first card and chose to use it again.

Had problems getting the picture without the glare.  Christy took the paper and instead of using the stencil she just sponged a lot of the colors together blending them as she went along.  Next, she decided where she wanted the leaves and she stamped the veins on the paper and then cut them out using the Leaf Framelits.

It was fun seeing how they took my idea and did their own creation from it.  We had fun watching and learning from each other different ways to use the same materials and ideas!

The ribbon used was from the Holiday catalog set of 3/8″ Ribbon Trio Pack and Old Olive cardstock was used to cut the scalloped oval with the new Oval Framelits. .  The sentiment was stamped using the Paisleys and Poisies stamp set onto Very Vanilla cardstock which was put cut using the Oval Framelits also and then adhered to the Old Olive piece. then that piece was put on using Stampin Dimensionals.

A fun time was had by everyone 🙂

Be sure and don’t forget to check out the Designer series paper sale going on for the month of October,

Just saw the special for the month of November and you are going to just love it.

Fall / Autumn Cards

Happy Saturday!  The weather is finally starting to cool off.  Not in the 90’s but in the high 70’s for a high and 53 for a low!!  Good football weather 🙂

The following card was one they made in class this past Thursday and today.

I was just playing around with inks and remembered how Brandy Cox had used big acrylic blocks at On Stage Live so I thought I would see about using a smaller block and see what I could come with.  I loved this!!

I used acrylic block A and the following inks: Cherry cobbler, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive to make the squares on the Very Vanilla paper. Other inks used were Soft Suede for the large leaves and Early Espresso for the small leaves from the Vintage Leaves stamp set.  This was all stamped on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla.  Then use Cherry Cobbler ribbon from the 3/8″ Silky Taffeta combo pack found in the Holiday catalog.  It was then adhered to a Cherry Cobbler base card 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. The sentiment is from Acorny Thank You and stamped on Very Vanilla with Cherry Cobbler ink and punched out using the Decorative Label Punch.  I then went around the edges with Cherry Cobbler ink before putting it on the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

These are the products I used:
