I love this Bird Ballad Suite in the new annual Stampin’ Up catalog. The stamp set that goes with it is Free As A Bird, and the Bird Ballad DSP paper is what I chose to use, as well as the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.
Directions to make it:
Pool Party cardstock (CS) measures 8 x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
DSP paper measures 5 1/4″ x 4″
scrap of Whisper White CS to cut out the label
Memento Tuxcedo black ink to stamp the sentiment with
1/8″ Whisper White ribbon (retired)
Steps to put it together:
- Score Pool Party CS
- adhere ribbon to DSP paper before putting it on the CS
- adhere the DSP paper to the front of card
- using a die cutting machine cut out the label and then stamp the sentiment on it
- adhere to the card using stampin dimensionals
- You may want to stamp a bird inside the card, but it is only opitonal.
Hi My Friends,
I have been off the radar for a few months as I have had some personal issues to take care of. In the last of February I got a bad case of Acute Asthmatic Bronchitis. I would just get it cleared up and then it would come back. I could not get rid of it. They did chest x-rays to be sure I didn’t have a hidden pneumonia which thankfully they were able to rule out. Finally in mid April the Dr. said that they had tried different antibiotics, I was doing a home breathing treatment at least 3 times a day and nothing was clearing it up. So, he said I needed to get out of the house for a good two weeks if I could, so I moved in with my daughter. Within about three days I cleared right up and it didn’t come back. So, that let us know there was something in the house that kept aggravating my asthma! A few days after that the hot water heater leaked and we had a lot of water in our computer room on the side closest to the garage. So to make a long story short we are replacing all our carpet in the house and putting down laminate throughout and porcelain tile in the bathrooms and master closet off the bathroom. My stay for two weeks has gone into a few more weeks as you can see! I did keep out some of my Stampin’ Up supplies so I could make cards and work on craft fair items!
The card that I made for my sweet friend who retired from 37 years of teaching last week is made with retiring products except for the Basket Weave embossing folder which is being carried over after being a Sale-a-bration item this year.
So, on to the directions for the card. Using Whisper White cs cut it 5 1/2 ” x 8 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″ . Then run the front part of the card through the embossing folder Basket Weave. Next, stamp the basket from Blossoming Basket on your Whisper White cs measuring 3 1/2″x 3 1/2″ using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then using Berry Burst ink for the flowers, Old Olive ink for the leaves and Crumb Cake ink for the basket and handle. Now put some ink in the lid of the stamp pads and use the blender pen to add color to the basket and flowers shading as you go along. Adhere it to your Old Olive cs measuring 3 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ using Stampin’ Up Snail tape runner. Now build the narrow strip of Petal Garden dsp measuring 4″ x 2″ to the old olive paper measuring 4 1/8″ x 2 1/8″ using Snail. Next, using Snail put the 4 1/8″ paper to the left side of the embossed front of the card. Then using a Stampin’ dimensional at each corner adhere to the top of the card. Using a new stamp that will be coming out stamp it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut it out with the retiring smallest size from Lots of Labels. Adhere it using mini glue dots and then using linen thread make a small bow and adhere it on top of the sentiment using a mini glue dot.
The following supplies were used:
I had a busy Saturday!! The Houston Choral Society a group I have sung with since 1988 had our big Oktoberfest concert. It was mainly done in German so I’ve been spending a lot of time working on it!! Unfortunately because of it falling on World Card Making Day I was unable to have a group of ladies to come over for a day of stamping!!
I’m going to be describing the bottom left card. I love making these “peek – a- boo” cards. The base is Early Espresso cs cut 5 1/2′ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ I used Crushed Curry, Whisper White cs, and Colored Me Autumn DSP paper. I stamped the Acorn design with Memento Tuxcedo Ink on Whisper White cs and then used blending pens with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, and Chocolate Chip inks. The DSP paper is cut 5 1/4′ x 4″ and then find the middle and cut down 1 1/2″ down. Then fold over each corner and using tape runner to hold it down. Then adhere it onto the front of the card using tape runner. Next using the Stitched Circles cut the largest out of Crushed Curry and then the next size smaller that you stamped the design on. Adhere the Whisper White to the Crushed Curry piece and using Stampin Dimensionals to the Crushed Curry to put it on the center of the DSP. I used Thinking of You from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set using Chocolate Chip ink and punched out using the new Classic Label punch. Adhere it using the new mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Also be sure and check out the Designer Series Paper sale that is going on the month of October.

Today’s card is going to be the top right one using the new Daisy punch, This is a very quick and easy card to make especially for beginners to paper crafts.
Whisper White cardstock is used for the card base which is cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. Basic Black cardstock is used for the top layer which is cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere it to the base card using Stampin’ Up Snail tape runner. Punch out 3 daisies using the new Daisy punch in Whisper White and adhere them on the card. Using a scrap of Daffodil Delight punch out 3 centers for the daisies using a 3/4″ circle punch and adhere them to each daisy. Using a scrap of Whisper White stamp the sentiment “get well wishes” from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set using memento Black ink and punch out using the classic label punch. Next adhere to the back of the label the new Stampin’ Up Mini Dimensionals at both ends and put on the card. To complete the card put a clear Faceted Gem inside each daisy.

Till next time a big HUG!!
Had my Hostess Club gathering last night. I always have a lot of fun with those gals 🙂 Unfortunately we were missing some because of summertime and vacations.
Today I’m going to share the bottom left card. It was using the Color Theory Suite.
I love this stamp set Colorful Seasons as it has such versatility. You can do a summer at the beach because of the lounger chair. You can can do a fall card using the leaf stamps. There is a snowflake stamp for a winter card. This suite also has a Memories and More pack which you can use in photo album, scrapbook pages or to add that extra wow to a card!
The base of this card is Berry Burst cardstock which is 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. Next layer is Whisper White which is cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″. For the open house I had a choice of 4 different colors to choose from which included Berry Burst, Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive which was cut to the size 3 3/4″ x 5″ and was adhered to the Whisper White layer with stampin dimensionals. I cut the flowers out of the variegated side of the Color Theory DSP paper using the flower thinlit from the Seasonal Layers thinlits that go with the stamp set. The middle of the flower dots used the Glitter Enamel Dots that go this Suite.
I stamped the saying You make me Smile from the stamp set Colorful Seasons onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. This card used the Berry Burst ink and was then punched out using the new Pretty Label punch. Also, the Pretty Label punch was used with the DSP paper.
This suite can be found on pgs. 146 – 147 in the new annual catalog.

Till next time a big HUG!
Such a cool breezy day here in Katy, TX. It was in high 80’s yesterday and high is only going to be 72 today! Crazy weather!! At least this weather will hold out tomorrow and not rain on us when we drive to Shreveport, LA, for the On Stage Stampin Up gathering 🙂
Today’s card is on the bottom left. Base uses Sweet Sugarplum cs which is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ Next layer is Vary Vanilla cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″ and then run through embossing folder Large Polka Dot using the Big Shot.
The bowl cut out in Crumb Cake cs, ice cream scoops are cut out using Very Vanilla cs, to have it be a French Vanilla flavor, the topping is in Chocolate Chip cs, while the cherry is cut from a scrap of Whisper White cs and then colored using Stampin Write markers Real Red and Pear Pizazz, while the spoon is cut from a scrap of silver foil. They are all cut out the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies found in the Occasions catalog. The toppings are adhered to the ice cream scoops before the scoops of ice cream are adhered to the bowl using Tombow glue except for one scoop which is adhered with Stampin Dimensionals. The cherry and spoon are also glued on. You then glue the bowl to the4″ x 2 1/2″ Very Vanilla cs. Using Sweet Sugarplum ink you stamp the sentiment from the Cool Treats Stamps.
To assemble the card you adhere the Very Vanilla piece onto the 4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Sweet Sugarplum cs. Then you tie a piece of Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon around the embossed Very Vanilla piece and then adhere it all to the base card using Tombow glue.
I hope you enjoy making this Yummy card!

Independent Stampin’ Up demonstrator
This card was fun to make!! Again I saw the idea for this on Pinterest.
It is your basic A2 card with Whisper White cardstock for the base cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored and 4 1/4. Then I wanted to showcase all the new Stampin’ Up in- colors. Each color was cut at 1″ x 3 3/4″ except for Flirty Flamingo which was cut at 1 1/4″ x 3 3/4″. They were then adhered to another piece of Whisper White 4″ x 5 1/4″. I started with emerald Envy first at the bottom and worked my way up to the top. So the next color is Peekaboo Peach, Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum, and Flirty Flamingo. The top layer was also 4″ x 5 1/4″ using Whisper White. Using the wavy thinlit from the Swirly Scribbles Thinklits I put it in the middle of the paper. I ran that through the Big Shot and ended up with three separate pieces. before adhering to the card I stamped Happy Day from the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set using Dapper Denim Ink on the right had side of the card. Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to put the outer pieces on the card while using the Fine Tip Glue to put the middle wavy section down onto the in-colored piece.
So, to recap how to assemble the card you adhere the in- color strips to one piece of Whisper White and using Stampin’ Dimenisonals to put that piece on the front of the card. Next, you cut out the next Whisper White piece with adding Stampin’ Dimensionals to the outside two pieces and adhering the wavy section using the Fine Tip Glue to the in-color paper.
