Jars of Love card #4

Hi All,

This is the last card we made using Jars of Love stamp set.

img_0823

We stamped the three different sizes of jars on the Fruit Stand Designer Series paper using Dapper Denim ink and then used the Everyday Jar Framelits to cut them out with.  Real Red ink was used for the jar lids.  The bow was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Daffodil Delight.

The Whisper White was 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.  The In-Color DSP was 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 and the Dapper Denim was 2 3/4 x 5 1/4.  I put the DSO first and put the solid Dapper Denim on top of it.  I cut one of the Delicate White Doilies in half and put it on first with the Jars on top of it.  The tag was cut out using the Tags & Labels Framelits with the sentiment Hello, that is also in the Jars of Love stamp set, stamped on it using Dapper Denim ink. All the jars, tag and ribbon where put on using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I’m BACK!!!

Sorry for going missing for so long!  I was in Kansas City, MO, with my younger daughter for a week helping her to get her room ready for another school year teaching Pre – K at the Forerunner Christian School in Kansas City!  I then got home just in time to start my long term substitute elem. music job.  I worked with K-5 everyday on a 6 day rotation cycle, so I saw every class twice within that rotation cycle. I also had to get the 5th graders ready for their Constitution program which was going to be just 4 days after the teacher came back!  I’m now finished with that long term sub job 🙂

I want to continue with the cards from the Jars of Love class I did. thoughts-and-branches-1

This card used the Thoughtful Branches stamp set and Beautiful Branches Thinlits.  It was done using the Sweet Sugarplum ink, cardstock, and Ruched ribbon.  The jar was stamped in Dapper Denim ink and the inside of the jar was stamped using Soft Sky.  Old Olive cardstock was used for the leaves which were cut out with the Thinlits.  Unfortunately this set was only offered for a short period of time, but by making a card with it I sold quite a few sets!

To make the card I actually stamped the tree once on the Whisper White cardstock and then again and cut it out with the Beautiful Branches Thinlits and added Stampin’ dimensionals to make it have a 3-D effect. The sentiment was stamped using Sweet Sugarplum ink.

Here is a closer look at the card.

Jars of Love

Good Morning!

Sorry I have been missing in action!  A lot has been going on in my life!  In fact I’m in Kansas City, MO, helping my daughter set up her classroom for the next school year which seems to be upon us already 🙂

Today’s card is another one from my Jars of Love class.

I saw this example on Pinterest using Flirty Flamingo, Soft Sky, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Crushed Curry and Delightful Dijon ink colors.  I really had fun with this stamp set.  I enjoy the two step stamping of the larger flowers.

The larger flower was first stamped using Blushing Bride and then using Flirty Flamingo inks.  The next one was first stamped with Crushed Curry and then Delightful Dijon inks. They were cut out using the Jars of Love Framelits.  The smaller flowers were stamped in Soft Sky and Dapper Denim inks and cut out using the Jars of Love Framelits. The jar was stamped using Dapper Denim ink and then the inside was stamped using Soft Sky ink. The bow was stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink and cut out using the bow framelit.   Everything was stamped on Whisper White cardstock.

The top and bottom right corners of the Whisper White layer were rounded using the Project of LIfe corner rounder punch.

Once the jar was stamped and flowers were cut out I just placed them on the card without adhering them at first to see where I wanted to put the green leaves which were stamped using Emerald Envy ink. Once I got the leaves stamped on I started adhering the flowers using stampin dimensionals on some of them.

The “for you” was cut from the Mini Treat Bag framelits. It was cut out of Flirty Flamingo cardstock. The embossed layer used the new embossing folder Seaside and also used Flirty Flamingo cardstock.

Jars of Love

Happy Saturday!

Today I’m starting to share some of the cards we made in the Jars of Love class this month.  The first card I got the idea from Pinterest that was from one that  Emily Campbell posted.  I liked the way she used not only the Jars of Love stamp set but By the Sea DSP.

Jars of love #2

The colors used were soft sky for the base of the card and then the next layer was the DSP paper.  The flowers were stamped using Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo inks.  The leaves were stamped using Emerald Envy ink.  The mason jar was stamped on Soft Sky cardstock using Dapper Denim ink and then cut out with the framelits that go with it.

Assembly of the card on top of the DSP paper you put the doily and then the mason jar is put on with dimensionals.  The flowers and leave stems are also cut out by using the framelit that goes with the stamp.  The stems are put on using fine tip glue, and the flowers are put on the stems and leaves using dimensionals.  The sentiment is stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla paper 1″x 4″using Flirty Flamingo ink. You cut the flag at one end.   It is then put on the card using dimensionals.
