Cool Treats

This week I’m going to post the cards I did for my Cool Treats Class in March.

all 4 cool treat cards wm

The first card top left I like to call “peek a-boo” card.  It uses Chocolate Chip cs for the base.  A piece of DSP from Tasty Treats is cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″.  Fold it in half and just gently pinch it so as not to make an entire fold.  Then using paper trimmer cut in 1 1/2″ and then fold each of those halves back to make the triangles.  Using a small glue dot will help hold the edges down.

The largest stitched circle framelits was cut out using Watermelon Wonder cs.  The ice cream cone was cut out using the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies.  The cone used Chocolate Chip, the ice cream scoops used Peek-a-Boo Peach and Whisper White cs.  The fudge topping was cut out in Chocolate Chip cs. The cherry was cut out in Whisper White and then colored using Real Red and Pear Pizazz markers.

The sentiment “Sweet” was stamped on a 1 3/4″ x 1″ piece of Watermelon Wonder cs  using Chocolate Chip ink.  Then rounded the corners using Project Life corner rounder. After that use a sponge dauber and go around the edges with Chocolate Chip ink.

Using Tombow glue on the DSP piece put it on the front of the base. Use Stampin Dimensionals to put the other pieces on the card.

You can purchase any of these products by going to either catalog to shop at the store.

I have a new monthly shopping code which is ) KDJMTVZQ for you to use if you order up to $149.00.  If you order $150.00 or more you will be the hostess and receive the Stampin Rewards.

I would love to have you as a follower of this blog. 🙂

Window Box

Hi All,

Welcome back to Designs By Penny.  Last Friday I had my friend Cyndi over and she helped me get my creative juices flowing again which had been missing for awhile.

Ever since the Occasions came out I had been wanting to make this Window Box using Window Box Thinlit Dies.

I started with Whisper White and cut two boxes. I then cut squares from the Sending Love DSP series using the Stitched square framelits. Next using Read Red cardstock I cut the Succulent out using Succulent Framelit dies.  I then used the heart stamp with whisper white craft ink from the Oh So Succulent set. I had to let the white ink dry for a while longer than other inks.  Then I cut out the leaves in Cucumber Crush cs and used Garden Green ink to stamp the vines on them.  Finally I added a pearl embellishment to comple the succulent.

One hint I can tell you, is that on one of the boxes you can cut off both side tabs as it otherwise makes it to bulky and doesn’t want to stay together as easily.

Here are the products I used to make this adorable window box.

Vintage Leaves Card

Wow how fast this day has already gone!  I have been busy doing Stampin Up and Thirty One Gift orders all day 🙂

I want to continue with the cards made at the Fall/Autumn class using the Vintage Leaves stamp set.

img_0857wm

This was made by using a stencil cut from the Leaf Framelits that go with the Vintage Leaves stamp set, and than sponging the different inks such as, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizazz,Cherry Cobbler on another piece of Very Vanilla so it would look like a leaf.  Then using Early Espresso to stamp the veins on using the Vintage Leaves stamp set.  Next, using the Leaf Framelits to cut it out.  That was the way I did it. I liked the way it gave it a 3-D effect after they were cut out.  Some in the class participants chose to do it a different way and it also turned out great looking.

This one was made by Cyndi and she used to leaves that were left over when I cut out the stencils.  Using the same ink colors she sponged them completely different and when she cut them out with the Leaf Framelits they still looked like 3-D leaves.  She really liked the saying we used on the first card and chose to use it again.

Had problems getting the picture without the glare.  Christy took the paper and instead of using the stencil she just sponged a lot of the colors together blending them as she went along.  Next, she decided where she wanted the leaves and she stamped the veins on the paper and then cut them out using the Leaf Framelits.

It was fun seeing how they took my idea and did their own creation from it.  We had fun watching and learning from each other different ways to use the same materials and ideas!

The ribbon used was from the Holiday catalog set of 3/8″ Ribbon Trio Pack and Old Olive cardstock was used to cut the scalloped oval with the new Oval Framelits. .  The sentiment was stamped using the Paisleys and Poisies stamp set onto Very Vanilla cardstock which was put cut using the Oval Framelits also and then adhered to the Old Olive piece. then that piece was put on using Stampin Dimensionals.

A fun time was had by everyone 🙂

Be sure and don’t forget to check out the Designer series paper sale going on for the month of October,

Swirly Bird Card

This card was fun to make!! Again I saw the idea for this on Pinterest.

img_0798-happy-day-wm

It is your basic A2 card with Whisper White cardstock for the base cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored and 4 1/4. Then I wanted to showcase all the new Stampin’ Up in- colors. Each color was cut at 1″ x 3 3/4″ except for Flirty Flamingo which was cut at 1 1/4″ x 3 3/4″.  They were then adhered to another piece of Whisper White 4″ x 5 1/4″. I started with emerald Envy first at the bottom and worked my way up to the top.  So the next color is Peekaboo Peach, Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum, and Flirty Flamingo. The top layer was also 4″ x 5 1/4″ using Whisper White. Using the wavy thinlit from the Swirly Scribbles Thinklits I put it in the middle of the paper.  I ran that through the Big Shot and ended up with three separate pieces. before adhering to the card I stamped Happy Day from the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set using Dapper Denim Ink on the right had side of the card. Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to put the outer pieces on the card while using the Fine Tip Glue to put the middle wavy section down onto the in-colored piece.

So, to recap how to assemble the card you adhere the in- color strips to one piece of Whisper White and using Stampin’ Dimenisonals to put that piece on the front of the card. Next, you cut out the next Whisper White piece with adding Stampin’ Dimensionals to the outside two pieces and adhering the wavy section using the Fine Tip Glue to the in-color paper.

If you would like to have this stamp set and Thinlit dies for yourself or both of them in a bundle  just click on the icon below and it will take you to my store where you can shop.

When ordering please don’t say No Contact, otherwise I won’t be able to send you a Thank You note.

Till next time happy stamping!

Paper Pumpkin Gathering

Good morning,

Well, to start off I guess I haven’t figured out how to do a post and have it post at another time.  I see that none of posts for this week have posted.  So, I will keep trying to figure this part out (GRRR).

So in April at the Stampin Up On Stage Live we were asked to come up with some goals for the next 6 months with our business.  So, one of my goals was to have a Paper Pumpkin gathering with those who are subscribers currently, and also who were once a Paper Pumpkin subscriber (hoping to get them back in ).  So I had that gathering this past  Sunday the 24th of July.  I took pictures so you could see how much fun they were having.  They told me that they had so much fun that would I please consider to do this on a regular basis.  So, I have now added a new event every month to my calendar 🙂

They all look so serious here, because they were all concentrating on what they were doing. Everyone was working on a different kit 🙂 Unfortunately three were missing from the group because of work and traveling. The lady in the white shirt was a brand new customer that I hadn’t met til that day!  She found me on the Stampin Up site, went to my DBWS calendar and saw that I held classes and had a Hostess Club, and team gathering. So she thought I sounded like I did quite a lot.  Come to find out we are neighbors !!  I enjoyed it also because I was able to work along side of them 🙂

Another one of my 6 months goals was to get a blog up and running.  I accomplished that one also as you can see.  My other blog wasn’t working out, so that is why I created another one. I’m being more successful with this one!

Need to go for now and work on one of my other goals which you will hear about as soon as it is ready!!

Don’t forget Bonus Days are about to end!  Be sure and get an order in for $50.00 to get a Bonus coupon to be used in August 🙂  My hostess code for this month is: ZDDP3QZ3.

Penny
